What TIME magazine has dubbed as "a laugh orgy", Last of the Red Hot Lovers by Neil Simon is set to take the stage at the Cameo Theatre (1123 E. Commerce) beginning May 2 -24. Laughs abound, men might relate and women will reel as we follow Neil Simon's central character Barney on his quest for excitement. Along the way we find that he's a lover... he's a loser... but, boy is he funny!

This sparkling comedy centers around middle-aged restaurateur Barney Cashman, who yearns for a passionate extramarital affair to take him out of his dreary, routine existence. When he finds out his mother's apartment will be empty one afternoon each week, he embarks on a series of encounters with 3 very different women: a cold, unemotional sex-pot; a would-be actress; and a feisty housewife who suffers from depression.

Simon's funny, perceptive script examines the needs and dissatisfactions that propel men and women to pursue sexual relationships--and the difficult emotional complexities that often result. Director Kevin Murray and Assistant Director Kathleen Lovejoy guide the San Antonio production.
