This romantic comedy features
Libby Daniels, a brash, sarcastic, edgy New Yorker whose successful
career as a Hollywood producer is perilously near its end. Using her
last credit card to travel to England with her assistant, Daisy, she
tracks down a reclusive author in a last-ditch attempt to revive her
career. Her target, Giles St. James, shares his home and private life in
the British countryside with his lifelong friend and manservant, Fred.
Under the guise of damsels in distress, Libby and Daisy are taken in by
Fred and a displeased but ever-so-proper Giles. Giles sees Libby as the
epitome of everything he disdains about America; Libby looks upon Giles
as the model of British stuffiness. In the end, Fred and Daisy help
Giles and Libby discover themselves and open their hearts to the
possibility of love.
